Para Asian Games 2023 Medal Tally on October 26: India began day four with 64 medals – 15 golds, 20 silver and 29 bronze across various events and disciplines in Para Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
India has sent a total of 309 athletes, including 196 men and 113 women, to compete in the 4th Asian Para Games. It’s a large number when compared to the contingent of the last edition of the Games, where 188 athletes had represented the nation in Jakarta.
Shooter Avani Lekhara, High Jumpers Shailesh Kumar and Nishad Kumar as well as Club Thrower Pranav Soorma clinched gold in the respective categories to begin India’s Hangzhou Asian Para Games with a bang on Monday (October 24).
On day 2 – Tuesday (October 24), para athletes Neeraj Kumar and Deepthi Jeevanji as well as canoeist Parchi Yadav bagged gold medals, while several others won silver and bronze in their respective events.
On day 3 – Wednesday (October 25), Sumit Antil broke the world record to add another gold, while para athletes Ankur Dhama, Haney, Sundar Singh Gurjar, Rakshita Raju and Suresh Nimisha Chakkungalparambil added to India’s gold rush.
On day 4 – Thursday (October 26), para athletes added three gold, one silver and four more bronze to take India to sixth in the medal tally with 72 medals – 18 gold, 21 silver and 33 bronze so far. Here is look at the Indian medallists:
