Babar Azam remains the No.1 ranked ICC Men’s ODI batter with 829 points, despite a fluctuating performance at the World Cup. Shubman Gill, the Indian opener, is closing in at second place with 823 points. Gill has reached a few inches closer to dethroning Babar Azam from no.1 spot in ODI rankings
Babar’s recent outing against Afghanistan saw him score 73, but his World Cup form has been inconsistent, averaging 31.40 in five games. In contrast, Gill, returning from illness, played stylishly and scored 53 against Bangladesh, accumulating a total of 95 runs in three innings.
Pakistan skipper Babar, who has a total of 829 rating points is closely followed by Gill with 823 points.
While Babar has had a shaky World Cup so far with 157 runs from five matches, Gill who missed a couple of games due to health concerns has scored 95 runs in the three matches in the ongoing cricketing extravaganza.
