29 Aug Asia Cup 2023: INDIA VS NEPAL Match Preview
Introduction:
Introduction :
The match of India Vs Nepal in the Asia Cup will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka & match will start on Monday 4th September at 3:00 pm local time.Â
History : Cricket is considered to be a religion in India. There are no sure theories about the origin of Cricket in India but as British ruled on India for over 200 years, the game can be called as their legacy. Cricket was introduced to the Indian subcontinent by European merchant sailors in the 18th century, and the first cricket club was established in 1792. India’s national cricket team did not play its first Test match until 25 June 1932 at Lord’s, becoming the sixth team to be granted Test cricket status. The team turned the table around in the year 1983 after winning the World Cup in England that year beating the mighty West Indies team in the finals. Since then India’s story in the world Cricket has been of highs and lows. The team has battled several odds to be one of the top teams in the world. Today Indian Cricket Team under Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) is the most professional set up in the sports. Today BCCI is the richest sporting body in the world. The money that BCCI generates has ensured better facilities at grass root level and at the same time better payment for players.Â
Performances : With the rise of Tilak Verma, it was quite evident that his name would be discussed. And interestingly, he made the cut. He’s a player to watch out for. A lot of Team India’s performances depend upon Rohit Sharma. An eccentric fielder, a more than handy left-arm spinner & a fearless batsman, Jadeja had all the qualities of a utility cricketer that we desire to see. Young batting sensation Shubman Gill makes Rohit Sharma’s opening partner. Hardik Pandya will play as an all-rounder with a good understanding of the game. Jasprit Bumrah makes a solid return to the international arena and has improved his batting ability ever since.. He’s shown value to the game in spite of an injury. Saving the best for the end, India’s batting mainstay, Virat Kohli is in a league of his own. He’s proved himself in the last matches and we’re hoping to see his best form again.
History : Cricket entered Nepal in the kitbags of the Rana aristocracy. In 1946, the aristocracy established the Cricket Association. While the association was controlled by aristocrats batting for the king, cricket began to trickle down to the people through a two-tiered domestic league. The Nepal cricket team has been affiliated with the ICC since 1988 and became an Associate Member on 2nd February, 1996. The side was awarded T20I status by the ICC in June 2014 until the 2015 World Cup Qualifier.Â
Performances : Nepal has never played in the Asia Cup. Hence, even being part of the tournament is a big achievement for them.Nepal will aim for a memorable performance against its opponents. The team has key players like Rohit Paudel (C), Dipendra Singh Airee (VC), Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Bhim Sharki and Sandeep Lamichhane among others.
