The following tactics are going to help you ace the game of Andar Bahar. Keep reading this blog for more insight on the game.
Andar Bahar, also known as Katti or Mangatha, is a popular Indian card game that is typically played with a standard deck of 52 cards. It is a simple and fast-paced game that is often played for fun among friends and family. Here’s how to play Andar Bahar:
Players : 2 or more players, but it’s usually played with a larger group.
Objective : The goal of Andar Bahar is to correctly guess which of the two piles, Andar (left) or Bahar (right), will match the rank of the chosen “joker” card.
Setup : The following is the setup for Andar Bahar :-
- Use a standard 52-card deck without jokers.
- Choose a dealer for the first round. The dealer’s role rotates clockwise in subsequent rounds.
- Shuffle the deck thoroughly and have the dealer draw one card from the top to determine the “joker” card. This card is placed face-up in the center, between the two piles.
Game play :
- The dealer shuffles the deck again and deals a single card face up to the Andar pile (left) and another card face up to the Bahar pile (right). These are the starting cards for each pile.
- Players take turns guessing which pile, Andar or Bahar, will have a card matching the rank of the joker card.
- Starting with the player to the left of the dealer, each player makes their guess by placing their bet on either the Andar or Bahar pile.
- After all players have made their bets, the dealer continues to deal one card at a time alternately to the Andar and Bahar piles, starting with the Andar pile.
- The game continues until a card of the same rank as the joker card is drawn. When this happens, the round ends.
- If the matching card is drawn in the pile where most bets were placed (Andar or Bahar), the players who bet on that pile win and receive the amount they bet. Those who bet on the other pile lose their bets.
- If the matching card is drawn in the opposite pile, the players who bet on the correct pile lose their bets, and those who bet on the other pile win and receive the amount they bet.
- If the joker card itself is drawn during the game, the dealer typically wins, and all players lose their bets.
- The game continues with a new round, and the role of the dealer rotates to the next player.
Winning :
The player with the most chips or the highest score at the end of a predetermined number of rounds wins the game. The game can also be played without keeping score for casual enjoyment.
Andar Bahar is a simple and social card game that relies on luck and quick decisions. It is often played for entertainment rather than high-stakes gambling and is a popular game during festivals and gatherings in India.
