Premier League 2023: Brighton VS Bournemouth

Premier League 2023: Brighton VS Bournemouth

Brighton & Hove Albion is going head to head with Bournemouth starting on 24 Sept 2023 at 13:00 UTC at American Express Community’s Stadium stadium, Falmer city, England. The match is a part of the Premier League.

AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth is a professional football club located in the south of England. The team plays in the Premier League and has been part of this elite competition since 2015. Founded in 1899, AFC Bournemouth is one of the oldest clubs still playing top-level English football today. Over their long history, they have had many highs and lows on their way to becoming an established Premier League side. They won 11 matches, drew 6, and lost 21.

– Bournemouth’s new left-back Milos Kerkez (£4.5m) had the most goal involvements of any defender under the age of 18 in Europe last season.

– The Hungary international has joined Bournemouth for a fee of £15.5m, and made 52 Eredivisie appearances last season, so will presumably slot straight in at left-back.

– He’s already impressed during his couple of pre-season starts.

– The 19-year-old Kerkez secured 12 goal involvements from last season’s 52 AZ Alkmaar appearances.

– His attacking tendencies could become a useful weapon and the victory could be in the team’s favor.

– Kerkez is arguably a player to target for offensive returns rather than clean sheets, although he did impress defensively in the Europa League last season too.

– With the talented winger like Jaidon Anthony, we’re hoping for the team to be in the best game.

– The Cherries’ defense could also be boosted by the arrival of Ukrainian center-half Illia Zabarnyi (£4.5m), who is expected to replace Chris Mepham (£4.5m) in the starting lineup.

Brighton & Hove Albion

The club was founded in already in 1901, originally as Brighton & Hove United but soon changing to its current name. They started to compete in the Southern League, which they won once in 1910. The same year they won the FA Charity Shield. They became a member of the Football League in 1920 when the Third Division was established. It wasn’t until the 1957-1958 season that the club won the Third Division and finally was promoted to the Second Division. The club would fall down to the Fourth Division in the 1960s. They won 18 matches, drew 8, and lost 12.

– Lewis Dunk remains Brighton’s cornerstone with over 400 appearances, since his debut back in 2010. The last season was some ride for the 31-year-old defender.

– Putting in performances for the Seagulls, week in and week out, he proved his mettle to Gareth Southgate.

– He also helped the Albion reach the Europa League with a sixth-place finish.

– Finally, now, Dunk has extended his contract until 2026 with a series of overwhelming performances under coach Roberto De Zerbi, who praised the move.

– Adam Webster, a 28-year-old English center-back, now has the chance to partner with compatriot and captain Dunk in defense.

– The Japanese wing of Brighton, Kaoru Mitoma, has already expressed his desire to come out all fresh, revamped, and all guns blazing in the new season. He even shone at the Qatar World Cup 2022, with Japan’s heroic side.

– In the 2022-23 season, he contributed 12 goals for Brighton in the league. Meanwhile, one of his unforgettable performances from last season surely includes his electric performance against Liverpool in the Cup competition. His goal even knocked the Reds out of the competition.
