BANGLADESH HISTORY : Cricket flourished in Bengal during the British era. Centering Calcutta, cricket gained a lot of popularity among the general mass. This led to the evolution of cricket over the years in West Bengal as well as present Bangladesh. The earliest match of note in Dhaka was in February 1941 when a Bengal Governor’s XI played the Bengal Gymkhana at the Bangabandhu National Stadium then called the Dacca Stadium. On 26 July, 1977, Bangladesh becomes an Associate member of the I.C.C. The BCCI seeks coaching help from the MCC. The MCC sends Bangladesh her first foreign cricket coach, an Englishman named Robert Jones. In May–July 1982, Bangladesh takes part in its second ICC trophy competition and finishes fourth among sixteen national teams.

PERFORMANCES : Liton Das is the first wicketkeeper-batsman in Bangladesh considered good enough to be a long-term successor to Mushfiqur Rahim. Towhid Hridoy played 10 BPL matches and scored 127 runs in 9 Innings and he’s made a total 10 boundaries with 6 fours and 4 sixes in BPL. Taijul Islam played 18 ODI matches and scored 87 runs in 11 Innings & highest Score in ODI is 39. Mehedi Hasan Miraz has emerged as one of the brightest young stars in Bangladesh cricket. He led the country to their first appearance in an Under-19 World Cup semi-final in February 2016. He is a batting allrounder who bowls right-arm off spin with a quiet action where he trundles to the wicket before giving a slight leap before rotating his upper body. It is a beautifully simple action that has yielded him many wickets in the U-19 and first-class level.

AFGHANISTAN HISTORY – The Afghanistan Cricket Federation was established in 1995. It was granted affiliate membership by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and this year marked the beginning of an incredible journey in the history of sports, and subsequently being granted associate membership of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003. The Afghanistan Cricket Federation was established in 1995. On 22nd June 2017, Afghanistan was awarded Full Member status during ICC’s Annual General Meeting in London, United Kingdom. This was ACB’s long standing goal and it only took Afghanistan four years to be elevated from Associate to Full Member. In addition, ICC awarded List A status to ACB’s three major domestic tournaments. ACB was also awarded Test status by ICC in 2017 opening a new chapter for Afghanistan to play test cricket against Full Member nations in the years to come.

PERFORMANCES – Certainly, it will be quite intriguing to witness the face-off between Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and has accumulated an impressive total of 749 runs in just 15 One Day Internationals (ODIs). Mohammad Nab i(C) will be headlining the match and hoping for his captaincy skills to flourish. Afghanistan’s spin attack and their aggressive batting style might give them the edge they need to take the win. Najibullah Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Azmatullah Omarzai, Darwish Rasooli, Farid Ahmad Malik, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Hazratullah Zazai, Ibrahim Zadran, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Naveen ul Haq, Qais Ahmad, Rashid Khan, Salim Safi, Usman Ghani.
